Golf Notes 11/2/19 – 17/2/19

Veterans:

The Veterans played a single stroke competition. The winner was S Edwards with 68 net, runner up M Gray 72 net. The rundown went to W Martin 73 net, K Rholdes, K Kirgis, R Stinson & D Forsyth 74 net, followed by D Gittins & A Stick 75 net and L Edwards 76 net. Pin shots were received by D Forsyth & L Hooke on 4/13 while G Parker & E Meagher received 8/17. The Members draw was won by D Forsyth while the Encouragement Award was received by R Holland. Tomorrow will be a single Stableford with a ladies competition if there is 6 or more ladies.  Monday the 25th will be a Single Stableford competition.

Wednesday:

 Ladies:

An extreme heat event did not deter 8 hardy girls to playing a stableford last Wednesday and Maureen Maynard blitzed the field returning 40 stableford points which was a net 68 and this has now been posted as the best net to start the season off. Congratulations to Maureen. Vicki Bird also returned a very good score of 39 points and then Linda Edwards 37. Other scores were Linda Hooke 30, Kris Cook 29, Jo McAntee 28, Jan Baulch 24, Marg Kuhnemann 22. Linda Hooke won both pin shots. The next 2 Wednesdays will also be stableford events for a club voucher. Good golfing an may all your putts fall in.

Sporters:

 Sporters was sponsored by N Hooke playing a stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. The winner was J Handley with 44 net, runner up G Lutter 46 net. The ball run down went to J McGrath 47 net, R Maudsley 48 net and D Webster & G Parker 49 net. Pinshots were received B Beasley on 13, R Maudsley received 17 while M Oโ€™Reilly received 18. The best gross for the day was G Parker, J McGrath & B Beasley with 56 off the stick. The Dugandan Dice was won by L Vandenbrink. This week will be sponsored M Oโ€™Reilly playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. Next week will sponsored by the Dover family for the Joe Dover Memorial.

Friendly Friday:

Friendly Fridays had 26 players tee off, playing a stableford back 9 competition. The winner was B May with 24 pts, runner up L Edwards with 22 pts followed by W Martin with 21 pts. The ball run went to K Reinholdsson, J Handley, D May, K Rhodes & V Bird 20 pts, followed by S Edwards, R Eacott & S Bailey 19 pts and W Bird 18 pts. The pin shot was received by B May, K Rhodes & J Handley while K Sawtell received the NAGA.
