Golf Notes 4/11/19 – 10/11/19

Veterans:   Monday the Veterans had 24 players play a stableford competition. The winner was N Casey with 40 pts, runner up G Hunt with 39 pts The ball run down went to D Forsyth 38 pts, R Patrick 37 pts and K Kirgis & A Stick 36 pts and P Cooper 35 pts. The ladies winner was E Meagher with 39 pts, runner up M Kuhnemann with 34 pts. The ball run down went to L Hooke & J Sippel with 33 pts. Pin Shots were received by T Russell & R Sanburg while E Meagher & L Hooke received the ladies. Tomorrow and next week will be a stableford competition.

Ladies:   Our last 18 hole competition for this year was a stableford competition for a club voucher and this was won by Jenny Briant with 35 points. Runner-up was Jan Baulch 33, Jo McAntee and Marg Kuhnemann 32, Ellen Meagher and Maureen Maynard 30, Anne Brown, Kris Cook, Alison Leary and Vicki Bird 29, Nicki Mulligan and Juleen Sippel 28, Jan Edwards and Jill Pfingst 27, Meryl Tress 23 and our new player Barb Hamilton also played. Pin shots went to Juleen and Jo and Jan Baulch was on the blue line. Our summer 9 hole competition will commence in December till the end of January. Have a safe and happy festive season. Our last meeting and AGM will be held on 27th November.

Sporters:   Wednesday the sporters had 32 players tee off playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition, sponsored by K Rhodes. The winner was W Gnech ocb from runner up B Sampson with 27 pts. The run down went to R Stinson 26 pts, followed by M Weber, D Forsyth, M Gray, K Kirgis, J McGrath & K Wilson with 25 pts. Pin shots were received by A Lutter on 13, T Alchin received 17 while M O’Reilly received 18. The Dugandan Dice winner was D Webster with 5 Kings. This week will be sponsored by R Brooks & M Crowther playing a stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. You will also have to count your putts for the day. Next week will be sponsored by Dover & Sons playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. This will be the 1st round of the Sporters Championships.

Friendly Fridays:   The Friendly Fridays had 13 players tee off playing a stroke front 9 competition. The winner was W Bird with 33 net, runner up B May ocb from P King with 35 net. The run down went to A Stick 35 pts and T Alchin 36 net R Stinson was awarded the NAGA.

Saturday:   Saturday was sponsored by FIS Insurance playing a 4 Ball Ambrose competition The winners were A Gill, C & H Perrem & K Milligan with 53¼, runners up were W Gnech, B King, J Gurney & D Mortimer 54&5/8, followed by S Bailey, M Schubring, P Gerhardt & W Hill 55&1/8, D & M Yeomans, W Brantjes & M Simmonds 55¾, J & I Browning, J McAntee & V Bird 56¾ and K & C Wilson, L Manton & J Grimsey 57&7/8. Pennants:   Unfortunately both teams have missed out on the finals.   Today  Division 1 lost 3½ to 5½, and Division 2 won 4 to 1.

Sunday:   Sunday we have a social club using all the buggies, teeing off at 7 am. Social play should be available after 12. Ring the club to make a booking or for any further details.
