Dress Code

Boonah Golf Club’s New Dress Code

Golf is a sport that is for all to learn and enjoy. Outdated clothing rules should not deter people from learning and loving our sport. What type of socks or shirt you wear is not a measure of how you treat other people or the course. Generally, small country golf clubs like ours struggle for new members and to break even. In our membership survey, there was strong feedback that membership needed to grow through attracting younger members, more women and children to play. There was also feedback that the club needed to have a stronger link to our entire community. If we are to attract the local community, we need to ensure we can compete with the local clubs and cafes for patronage.

When drafting the new dress code, it was felt that golf and the treatment of the course and other players are more important than the type of clothes you wear!
