Monday the Veterans had 72 players play a single stableford competition, for The Vets Open Day. The Mens winner was B Brown ocb from runner up D Martin with 40 pts. The ball run down went to R Burnett 39 pts, W Maudsley & R Hewlett with 38 pts, P Duncan, J Gurney, R Orazio & K Brown with 37 pts, followed by M Whitney 36 pts, and R Stiling, G Guy, J Browning & N Roantree with 35 pts. The Ladies winner was M Day ocb from runner up N Jones with 36 pts. The ball run down went to D Wall 34 pts & E Meagher & M Brown with 33 pts. Pin Shots were received by R Burnett, R Tomlinson, R Burnett & G Hunt, while the ladies were received by C Van Daalen, M Harrison & M Day.
Ladies:
Wednesday the Ladies had 12 players, play a 2 ball Ambrose competition, kindly sponsored by J Baulch. The winners were S Savery & T Reid Pocock with 67 net, runners up were V Sampson & D Marshall with 68.75 net. The run down went to S Grace & T Stinson & H Roebig & N Stanfield. Pin shots were received by S Grace on 4/13 while N Stanfield received 8/17. This week will be the Annette Geiger Memorial, kindly sponsored by J Dover. This will be an Invitational Day for our male members wishing to play an 18 hole competition.
Sporters:
Wednesday the Sporters were sponsored by M Gray & R Holland playing a single stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. The winner was L Vandenbrink with 30 pts, runner up was J McGrath with 27 pts. The run down went to S Edwards & J Strutt 26 pts, G Parker, M Gray & R Scells 25 pts, followed by A Hertweck, S Fahey & B Beasley with 24 pts. Pin shots were received by L Vandenbrink on 4, B Beasley received 8 while S Fahey received 9. This week will be the Hal Gwynne Memorial kindly sponsored by the Eviston Brothers playing a single stableford 10-18 + 10, 14 & 15 competition.
Saturday:
Saturday we played the Boonah Rotary Club Open Day, playing a single stableford competition. The Overall winner was T Bennett with 45 pts. The Mens A Grade winner was G Saunders with 41 pts, runner up was R Burnett with 37 pts, followed by J Browning & M Wyvill 36 pts and G Eviston with 35 pts ocb. Mens B Grade winner was R Lawrie with 38 pts, runner up was G Parker ocb from A Parker & J West with 36 pts followed by G Philp with 35 pts ocb. C Grade winner was D Tomlinson ocb from runner up D Illing with 40, followed by A Hertweck 37 pts, W Lovett 36 pts and S Edwards with 35 pts. The Ladies winner was S Grace ocb from runner up B Dover with 37 pts, followed by A Tomlinson, S Savery & S McKenzie with 36 pts. The Social winner was J Hertweck, runner up was Adrian. The all abilities winner was L Keeler. Pin shots were received by S Bailey on 1/10, B May received 2/11, J Wilson received 3/12, D Beazley & S Savery received 4/13, G Saunders received 5/14, B Dover received 6/15, J Miles received 7/16, P Illing & S Grace received 8/17 while G Parker received 9/18. Pennants:
Both of our Pennants Teams played on Sunday. Team 1 played Laidley and won 6/3. S Fahey, D Bass, K Milligan, A Moore, G Maynard & I Pocock won their matches while B Freiberg, K Wilson & G Yeomans lost their matches.
Our Team 2 squared their match against Sandy Gallop 3½ to 3½. S Bennett, W Martin & D Beazley won their matches, G Hunt, C Bell & T Bennett lost, while D Tomlinson squared his match.
Sunday: No Social Club this week so social play will be available all day. We ask that you ring and book your round with a buggy if wanting one to avoid disappointment.
