Golf Notes 3/6/19 – 9/6/19

Veterans:   A field of about 70, including 12 players from Boonah, competed in the Beaudesert Vets Open Day. Among the prize winners were Graeme Hunt (Ntp 2) and Terry Lynch (Ntp 15). D Forsyth (32 pts) was the top score for Boonah. The Vets will have another chance at the challenging Beaudesert layout when the Fassifern Day is held there in a month’s time. This week and next week will be a stableford competitions.

Ladies:   Monthly medal for June was won by the consistent Jill Pfingst with a net 70. Runner up was Anne Brown 75, Vicki Brd 77, Maureen Maynard 78, Marg Kuhnemann 79, Kris Cook 83, Juleen Sippel 84, Jo McAntee 86, Ellen Meagher 88 and Jan Baulch 89. Juleen won the best putting with 27, Jill and Jan won the pin shots. Today we are sponsored by The Picnic Parlour and next week is the Audrey Morris Memorial which is always presented by Josie Newlove. Our Go Girls Sunday afternoon with Ann Wilson coaching is scheduled to start at 1.30 June 16th and the following Sunday 23rd June will be play on the course with our lady players. Sporters:   Wednesday was sponsored by J McGrath playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. The winner was K Rhodes with 26 pts, runner up L Vandenbrink with 23 pts. The ball run down went to B Brown 22 pts and K Kirgis & M Gray 21 pts. Pin shots were received by G Parker on 13, K Kirgis received 17 while W Wieland received 18. The Dugandan Dice winner this week was G Searle. This week will be sponsored by S Fahey playing a stableford 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. Friendly Fridays:  Friendly Fridays had 16 players tee off playing a stalbeford competition. The winner was K Kirgis with 23 pts, runner up T Alchin ocb from R Fitzgerald with 20 pts. The run down went to R Eacott & T Lynch 19 pts and B Lawrance & H Perrem 18 pts. The pin shot was received by T Alchin and M Hassan received the NAGA.

Saturday:  Saturday was sponsored by Boonah Jewellery & Gifts playing a single stroke/monthly medal competition. The winner was W Bird with 62 net, runner up W Gnech 66 net. The run down went to T Alchin & B Gotke 70 net, W Brantjes, D Gittins, T Richardson, G Parker, M Frohmuller & K Sawtell 71 net, followed by K Wilson & D Forsyth 72 net, K & J McQuilty, P Gerhardt, W Maudsley, G Philp & M Weber 73 net and C Perrem, B Beasley & P King 74 net. The ladies winner was A Leary with 72 net, runner up J McAntee with 75 net ocb. K Wilson had an Eagle on the 3rd. Sunday:  No Chook Run winner this week. Sunday we have a social club using all the buggies and teeing off at 8 am, social play will be available if walking but ring the club to make a booking or for any further details.
