Golf Notes 29/7/19 – 4/8/19

Veterans: Monday the Veterans had 21 players tee off playing a stroke competition, for the 1st round of their Championships. The winner was G Hunt with 66 net, runner up M Sim with 67 net. The rundown went to T Lynch 68 net, C Shannon 69 net followed by E Windolf, D Forsyth, R Patrick & M Hassan 71 net and G Wellings 74 net. The best gross for the day was T Lynch with 78 off the stick. Pin Shots were received by P Cooper & T Lynch. The Encouragement Award was received by W Martin while the Members Draw was won by R Stinson. Tomorrow is the 2nd round of the Championships playing a stroke competition. Next week will be a 4BBB stableford v Ipswich Vets.

Ladies: A very successful Open Day was held last Thursday with 76 players from the following clubs out on the course. Canungra, Beaudesert, Laidley, Lowood, Caboolture, Gailes, Royal Queensland, Pacific, Mt Warren Park, Stanthorpe, Rosewood, Ipswich, Ashgrove, Sandy Gallop and Coolangatta Tweed. Overall winner of the day was our own Jo McAntee with 37 stableford points. Division 1 was handicaps 0-18 and the winner was Di Paez 35, runner up Caroline Gamble 34; Division 2 handicap 19-24 handicap winner was Marg Kuhnemann 36 (another local), runner up on a countback was Lorelle Digan 35; Division 3 handicap 25-45 winner was Robin Yuke 35 and runner up Carol Eastwell 33. Accurate drives on the blue line were Judy Logan, Ino Baker and D. Smith. Pin Shot winners were Di Paez, Marge Kuhnemann and Carol Eastwell. Our Madam Golfer was Marion Champion. Everyone had a great day and praised the condition of the course considering the dry conditions and the lunch was deliciious. Thanks to our Bunker Boys Ray, John, Neil and Bob who braved the cold wind and also to everyone who helped out on the day. Our usual competition day last Wednesday was sponsored by past member Fran Licciardo and the winner was Maureen Maynard with 35 points with Jill Pfingst runner up. Sporters:  Wednesday was sponsored by G Searle playing a stableford 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. The winner was D Forsyth with 28 pts, runner up D Webster ocb from J Handley & K Wilson with 26 pts. The rundown continued with G Eviston & R Eacott with 24 pts. Pin shots were received by J McGrath on 17 while G Parker received 18. The Dugandan Dice winner this week was R Fitzgerald. This week will be sponsored by M Gray & K Kirgis playing a stroke 1-9 + 10, 14 & 15 competition. Next week will be sponsored by David Woolgar for the Wally Woolgar Trophy.

Friendly Friday:  Friendly Fridays had 21 players tee off playing a stableford back 9 competition. The winner was M Hassan with 22 pts, runner up B May 21 pts followed by J Sippel ocb from J McAntee, C Perrem & J Handley19 pts. The run down continued with H Perrem, T Alchin & M Weber with 18 pts. The pin shot was received by C Perrem while K Reinholdsson received by NAGA.

Saturday:  Saturday was sponsored by G Philp, B Philp, C Philp & M Gnech playing a stableford/monthly mug competition. The A Grade winner was W Gnech with 41 pts, runner up T Alchin 40 pts followed by W Maudsley with 37 pts. B Grade winner was L Blunt with 41 pts, runner up A Hertweck 40 pts followed by W Hill with 37 pts. C Grade & Monthly Mug winner was H Perrem with 46 pts, runner up M Sullivan 41 pts followed by M Weber with 39 pts. The ladies winner was D Wall with 36 pts, runner up J McAntee with 35 pts. The ball rundown went to C Philp 42 pts, G Philp 38 pts, M Schubring, K Milligan & J Grimsey 37 pts, followed by I Browning, S Lutter, S Francis & P Rabbitt 36 pts, P Gerhardt, B May, J McGrath & M Dickson35 and G Parker, R Eacott, G Lutter, S Taylor, R Brooks & C Wilson 34 pts.
