Thirty-Six players from Boonah, Beaudesert and Canungra competed in a Scenic Rim District Vets Day held at Canungra Area Golf Club on Monday. The ladies winner with 41 pts was Carrie Thomas (Canungra). The mens winner was Paul Codner also from Canungra, with 39 pts. Runners Up was Stan Bodermien with 35 pts ocb while the ladies runner up was Lee-Ann Davie with 34 pts. Boonah’s Kris Cook took out 3rd place in the ladies comp with 33 pts ocb from Maureen Maynard & Juleen Sippel both 33 pts. The best of the Boonah Men were Ray Holland with 33 pts and Maurie Gray 32 pts. Juleen Sippel took out the ladies pin on 8. Next week will be a stableford competiton.
Thursday the Sporters was sponsored by Scenic Rim Landscaping Supplies playing a stroke 10-18 + 1, 5 & 6 competition. The winner was Brett Davey ocb from runner up Mark Crowther with 45 net. The ball run went to Rob Stinson 46 net, Geoff Parker 47 net and Steve Lutter 49 net. The pin shots went to Kev Rhodes, Matt Weber & Ray Holland. The best gross for the day went to Geoff Parker with 54 off the stick. The Dugandan Dice winner was Brett Davey. Friendly Fridays’ had 18 players tee off playing a stableford front 9 competition. The winner was J McAntee with 22 pts, runner up C Wilson with 21 pts followed by K Sawtell with 20 pts. The run down went to M Hassan & S Bailey 19 pts and M Crowther 18 pts. The NAGA.was received by L Rhodes.
Saturday we played a stableford/monthly mug competition, sponsored by Schweppes. The winner was Ken Sawtell with 44 pts, runner up Chris Philp with 40 pts, followed by Jesse Townsend 39 pts & Bruce May 38 pts. The Ladies winner was Kerrie Cooper ocb from runner up Jan Baulch with 40 pts, followed by Seren McKenzie 38 pts & Alison Leary 37 pts ocb. The ball run down went to Robbie Higgs, Mike Gnech, Gordy Philp, Scott Bailey, Joe McGrath, Anne Brown & Kris Cook 37 pts, Tony Richardson, Arron Lutter, Wayne Martin, & Simon Francis 36 pts followed by Richard Eacott, Les Blunt, Will Brantjes, Jason Grimsey, Robert Philp, Ben King & J Leisemann 35 pts.
